Why Families Love the Father Christmas Experience at Bewl Water

There are festive days out. Then there is Christmas at Bewl Water.

Set in an enchanted woodland near Lamberhurst, on the Kent and Sussex border, Christmas at Bewl Water is a festive journey where children explore, imagine and play their way through Christmas cheer. Many places offer a quick hello with Father Christmas. Here, meeting him is the heart of a whole adventure.

Here is why so many families love it.

It Is More Than a Grotto. It Is a Story.

Rather than simply joining a queue to see Father Christmas, families are invited to take part in Santa's Quest, our brand-new adventure for 2026. Santa and his elves need your family's help to restore Christmas cheer, and every child becomes a Cheer Champion on a mission to bring it back.

Santa's merry elves bring the story to life with laughter, cheer chants and storytelling, with playful panto-style moments of audience participation and surprise encounters along the way.

Every step has a purpose. Every moment adds to the story. And every child plays a part.

Time to Relax, Explore and Enjoy

We recommend allowing around three hours for the full experience. The Quest itself lasts just under two hours, followed by a free-flow area where you can eat, play, explore and shop at your own pace.

Every Grotto & Quest Experience includes:

• A personalised interaction with Santa
• Choosing a gift from the Toy Exchange
• Full participation in the Quest Experience
• Interactive workshops and festive creations to take home
• Live performances and magical moments throughout your journey

Along the way you will find Rosemary's Bakery for biscuit decorating, the Elves' Workshop for making sleigh ornaments, Prancer's Pantry for mixing reindeer food and Dash's Post Office for sending wishes to Santa.

For families who want even more, the Mrs Claus Enhanced Experience adds a private meet-and-greet with Mrs Claus in our enchanted woodland, a complimentary souvenir photo from your Santa visit, priority access to workshops and performances, an exclusive lanyard and additional goodies, including a souvenir Santa Key.

You are not moving through a line. You are moving through a world.

A Woodland Setting Made for Christmas

Bewl Water's woodland becomes the backdrop for the whole adventure, with magical settings and character encounters at every turn and plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

When the Quest is over, the Candy Land Food Court is the place to refuel with street food and festive treats, while little ones keep the fun going on the Candy Land play frame.

Father Christmas Feels Real

At the heart of every visit is a private family visit with Father Christmas. When you book, you can share your child's name, age and a little about their hobbies and interests, so each meeting is personalised for your child.

The visit is exclusive to your family's booking, with up to eight guests at a time and no sharing with strangers. Children have time to talk, to share their wishes and to feel seen.

It is gentle. It is kind. It is a moment families treasure.

A Place to Believe

Christmas at Bewl Water is more than a place to meet Father Christmas. It is a place to believe in him.

Santa's Quest runs on selected dates from 28 November to 24 December 2026. If you would like to begin the adventure this year, visit our website and press Book Now to choose your date. Questions? Read our FAQ or email christmas@bewlwater.co.uk.
