How to Plan the Best Santa Experience in Kent
Christmas is a season of wonder, and if you are looking for a magical Christmas event near Tunbridge Wells, Christmas at Bewl Water is ready to welcome you. Our 2026 experience, Santa's Quest, goes far beyond a quick grotto visit. It is an immersive festive adventure in an enchanted woodland setting, where your family becomes part of the story.
Whether you are searching for festive family events in the South East or simply the best things to do in Kent this Christmas, here is how to plan your perfect visit.
Choose Your Date and Book Online
Christmas at Bewl Water runs on selected dates from 28 November to 24 December 2026. It does not run every day, so check the dates and arrival times on our booking service and choose the one that suits your family.
All tickets must be booked online in advance, and we are a cashless event. Every visitor needs a ticket, and each booking must include at least one adult aged 18 or over. When you book, remember to add your free parking ticket to your basket: one is included per booking.
Pick Your Adventure
There are two ways to step inside the story:
- Grotto & Quest Experience: our signature Christmas adventure, with a personalised visit with Santa, a gift chosen from the Toy Exchange, the full Quest, interactive workshops with festive creations to take home, and live performances throughout your journey.
- Mrs Claus Enhanced Experience: everything in the Grotto & Quest Experience, plus a private meet-and-greet with Mrs Claus in our enchanted woodland, a complimentary souvenir photo from your Santa visit, priority access to workshops and performances, an exclusive Enhanced Experience lanyard and additional goodies, including a souvenir Santa Key.
For the littlest visitors, My First Christmas tickets are available for babies under one and include a personalised Santa interaction and a toy.
Immerse Yourself in the Full Quest
Santa and his elves need your family's help to restore Christmas cheer at Bewl Water. As Cheer Champions, you will be guided through live performances, playful panto-style moments and magical encounters. Highlights include:
- A personal visit with Santa: a private family visit, personalised with your child's name, age and a little about their hobbies and interests.
- Rosemary's Bakery: decorate your own shortbread biscuits to take home (or eat straight away).
- The Elves' Workshop: build and decorate a sleigh ornament to treasure long after the Quest.
- Prancer's Pantry: make reindeer food to sprinkle on Christmas Eve.
- Dash's Post Office: send your all-important wishes to Santa.
- The Toy Exchange: choose a gift from Santa.
Allow Plenty of Time
The Quest itself lasts just under two hours. Afterwards, the free-flow area is yours to eat, play, explore and shop, so we recommend allowing around three hours for the full experience. You are welcome to stay and play as long as you wish.
Please arrive five minutes before your booked timeslot. Every group has a personalised experience, so late arrivals may miss parts of the Quest.
Dress for a Winter Adventure
Most of the experience is under cover and runs come rain, shine or snow, but some areas are outdoors and not all covered sections are heated. Our woodland paths can be muddy, so wrap up warm and wear sturdy footwear. Christmas outfits and costumes are very welcome, and perfect for photos.
Refuel at the Candy Land Food Court
When the Quest is over, head to our free-flow space, where street food, warming mulled wine, cider and speciality hot drinks are available to buy. While grown-ups relax, little ones can enjoy the Candy Land play frame. Gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan options are available on request.
Capture Your Christmas Memories
The experience is filled with beautifully designed photo opportunities, from magical settings to character encounters. Official photographs are also taken during the Grotto visit and are available to purchase straight afterwards, so remember to collect yours before you leave.
Coming as a Bigger Group?
Each Santa visit welcomes up to eight guests to keep it personal. Larger groups are very welcome and will visit Santa in their smaller booked groups, then enjoy the rest of the Quest together. Cheer Champions booking in groups of six or more receive 10% off their booking.
Getting Here
You will find us at Bewl Water, Bewlbridge Lane, Lamberhurst, Kent TN3 8JH, on the Kent and Sussex border just off the A21. Dogs are not permitted inside Christmas at Bewl Water (qualified assistance dogs excepted), but they are welcome in the wider Bewl Water grounds.
