Autumn at Bewl Water: A Warm-Up for Winter Magic

As the leaves turn golden and the air carries the crisp scent of autumn, the countryside around Bewl Water takes on a whole new palette of colour. While many families know us for our Christmas experience, the magic begins long before December arrives. Autumn is a season of anticipation, of cosiness and of gathering together, and it is the perfect warm-up for the winter wonderland to come.

Seasonal Colour in the Countryside

Autumn is a lovely time of year to be outdoors, with russet leaves, misty mornings and fresh air to blow away the cobwebs. Bewl Water sits near Lamberhurst, on the Kent and Sussex border, just off the A21, so it is easy to reach for families across the area.

Cosy Days Out for All Ages

Autumn is a wonderful time for families to make the most of time together before the festive season arrives. Dogs are welcome to enjoy the wider Bewl Water grounds, and you can find out what is on across the year on the main Bewl Water website.

A Taste of What's to Come: Christmas at Bewl Water

Autumn also marks the build-up to our most magical time of year. Christmas at Bewl Water returns on selected dates from 28 November to 24 December 2026, and this year families are invited to join Santa's Quest, a brand-new festive adventure. Here is a little of what to expect:

• A brand-new Quest: Santa and his elves need your family's help to restore Christmas cheer, with live performances and immersive storytelling along the way.
• A personalised Santa visit: a private family visit with Santa, personalised with your child's name, age and hobbies.
• The Toy Exchange: where each child with a Child ticket collects their Christmas gift from Santa.
• Festive workshops: decorate shortbread in Rosemary's Bakery, build a sleigh ornament in the Elves' Workshop, mix reindeer food in Prancer's Pantry and send your wishes from Dash's Post Office.
• New surprises for 2026: alongside returning favourites, there are more festive surprises still to be revealed.

For an extra touch of magic, the Mrs Claus Enhanced Experience adds a private meet-and-greet with Mrs Claus, priority access to workshops and performances, a complimentary souvenir photo from your Santa visit and extra goodies, including a souvenir Santa Key.
