We visited for the Christmas experience and grotto and had the most amazing time. We took my 5 year old niece who really enjoyed herself. The experience was well put together and very Christmas-y, with just about enough going on to entertain her for almost 3 hours! The highlight was most definitely the elf characters - every elf we spoke to and interacted with was superb and engaged with my niece so wonderfully. We made some fantastic memories interacting with the elves.

The Best Christmas place to go with your children. We have been to many Christmas experiences and this is far the best. Not just a light experience wandering around in the freezing cold. This was all under cover. From entering you was all made to feel as you were going to go on a wonderful Xmas adventure. Walking down into different forests and areas where the children This was one of the best Christmas experiences we have ever done. All the staff were fantastic, so engaging and kept the magic well and truly alive. All the activities were well organised and nothing felt overcrowded or rushed, and the extra bits you could buy weren’t overpriced. I would absolutely recommend this, thank you!

Every year we do a Christmas trip somewhere with our grandchildren and went to Bewl Water this year. All I can say is WOW!!!! Absolutely amazing from start to finish. My grandchildren absolutely loved it but the adults enjoyed it as much as them. Staff are an asset to you. Things to do were never ending we struggled to get the boys out of there. Places to eat were great ….loved the marshmallow melting!! Prices were so reasonable especially after listening to friends who have recently visited winter wonderland!!! My grandchildren loved the gingerbread decorating. Thank you Bewl Water, you were amazing and I would definitely recommend visiting. We will be back!! Merry Christmas to you all 🎄🎄

Most amazing day for the Christmas experience today!! There is so much to do for the children. No rush to get around the place and can even go back round if needed. Father Christmas knew so much about the children which was magical for them. Excellent all round especially with the very windy weather it was all very well looked after and well run. We came to the Christmas at Bewl Water experience and were completely blown away. We have done so many Christmas experiences and this one was beyond compare. All of the staff were incredible and made the children feel so special. They spent so much time with each individual family and the effort and thought was incomparable. The elves we met at the start of the experience remembered our children’s names when we saw them hours later and truly brought the Christmas magic to life with the games and jokes they played. All of the sections were so detailed and the props made it all feel so atmospheric. Even down to the fake snow everywhere. The play park and bouncy castle were perfectly placed to mean there was not long queues. And it never felt busy despite visiting on Christmas Eve. This will be the first thing I book for next Christmas. Thank you all so much.

We took our 8 year old daughter for the Santa experience, end of November and this started Christmas for us. There were lots of fun activities from gingerbread icing and decorating tree decorations to making reindeer food and sending a postcard to Santa. Meeting the big guy was the highlight. Santa spent time talking to my daughter about her hobbies and interests, she was amazed how much he knew! A magical afternoon out, definitely recommend it!

Santa’s Grotto

The moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived! Guided by cheeky Elves along enchanting woodland paths, you’ll journey to Santa’s magical Grotto, where a truly personalised visit awaits. Here, little ones can share their dreams and wishes, and Santa, of course, already knows what’s in their hearts, igniting the true spirit of Christmas.

Then, with a special token in hand, it’s off to the Toy Exchange, where children from far and wide gather to receive an early festive gift!

Your Santa’s Grotto & Quest Experience ticket includes: 

  • Entry into Christmas at Bewl Water at your chosen date and time, with two hours of elf guided workshops and performance; including helping the Elves and Mrs Claus restore Christmas cheer, a theatrical performance and a personalised visit with Santa! Plus, even more fun in our free flow areas where you can eat, play, explore and shop!

 

  • During your Santa’s Grotto & Quest Experience your child will receive:
    • Free parking for one vehicle*
    • 1 toy for every child and My First Christmas booking when you meet Santa
    • 1 ornament during the Elves workshop
    • 1 delicious festive treat during Mrs Claus’ Bakery
    • 1 bag of Reindeer Food
    • Entry to the experience and full participation in all workshops

Santa’s Grotto & Quest Experience tickets for Christmas at Bewl Water must be booked online in advance to avoid disappointment. 

Christmas at Bewl Water’s Santa’s Grotto is an exclusive and personalised experience. Therefore, groups are strictly limited to 6 people (excluding under 1s) in The Grotto, so Santa can interact with each child.

Unfortunately, tickets are non-refundable unless you have opted to purchase Ticket Plan Refund Protection for your tickets. TicketPlan Refund Protection is available for purchase at the point of booking and provides refund coverage for specific, qualifying reasons such as accident or unexpected illness, subject to TicketPlans’s Terms and Conditions. Whilst we haven’t partnered with a SEND specialist, we are committed to inclusivity and recommend contacting our team at christmas@bewlwater.co.uk to discuss any requirements you may have during your visit, and we can strive to accommodate accordingly.

Everyone visiting the Santa’s Grotto & Quest Experience needs to book a ticket. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18. Adults attending with children must purchase a ticket to enjoy the whole experience with their family.

If you have a babe in arms, you can book an Under 1s ticket which is free of charge, however they will not receive a toy from Santa or any specific interaction with Santa. If you wish for them to receive a toy from Santa, please purchase a My First Christmas ticket where this is included.

We understand that some guests require additional care and assistance. Therefore, Christmas at Bewl Water offers Essential Companion concession tickets that are sold at a discounted rate of 50% for Santa’s Grotto & Quest Experience.

All Essential Companion tickets must be selected when completing your booking as we are unable to apply any discount on the day. Documentation must be provided in advance for Essential Companion tickets to become valid such as an Access Card, PIP or DLA.

Please note: One Essential Companion ticket can be purchased per booking. This an accompanying ticket only, if your Essential Companion wishes to take part in all of the activities in the experience, please ensure you book a Child’s Ticket.

Bewl Water is on the Kent/Sussex border near Lamberhurst, just off the A21. When approaching from the North, follow signs to Bewl Water and turn off the A21 onto Bewlbridge Lane. When approaching from the South, drive past Flimwell and follow signs to Bewl Water, turning off the A21 onto Bewlbridge Lane.

We have a car park with plenty of spacious bays. Simply follow directions to the car park as you turn into Bewl Water. One free parking ticket is included with each order and must be added to your basket when booking your experience tickets to assist in our management of parking requirements. Any additional cars you wish to park to attend the event must purchase a parking ticket valid for the duration of your time at the Bewl Water site.

ANPR parking services are in operation at Bewl Water and fees are issued by a third-party operator. Please ensure you have provided us with the correct vehicle registration for the cars you will be attending the event in, to avoid any unexpected parking fines.

Your Santa’s Grotto & Quest Experience begins at the timeslot you book.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your booked time.

As every group receives a personalised and exclusive experience, and Santa must meet many little adventurers who are helping him with his quest, we are unable to accommodate missed visits in Santa’s schedule as he is extremely busy during the festive season! Please allow adequate travel and preparation time to arrive at check in on time as late arrivals may be refused entry or miss parts of the experience.

Santa’s Grotto & Quest Experience should last just under two hours, we then have a free flow area where you can eat, play, explore and shop. We recommend 3 hours to enjoy the full experience.

Yes, your visit to Santa’s Grotto will be exclusive and personalised to your family’s booking. 

If you wish to come dressed in your favourite Christmas outfit or costume, that’s more than welcome!

While you will be under cover for most sections of the event and there are plenty of areas to keep you warm and dry, there are also fun outdoor areas to explore and Christmas at Bewl Water is set in a wonderful woodland setting. Therefore, we highly recommend you bring appropriate footwear and wrap up warm. Please be aware that despite our best efforts, some pathways can get muddy at times, due to the nature of the setting.

Families visiting Christmas at Bewl Water will have the opportunity to enjoy hot and cold drinks, plus a range of special Christmas treats from Candy Land Food Court. This includes a range of delicious dishes including gluten and dairy free, vegetarian and vegan options as well as a variety of sweet treats for all the family. There will also be a selection of delicious refreshments to choose from before you begin your quest.
Delicious meals, snacks, and drinks are also served at the Waterfront Café.

Most of the Christmas at Bewl Water experience is under cover so it can be enjoyed come rain, shine or snow. We would still recommend wearing warm clothes as not all areas are heated.

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed to attend Christmas at Bewl Water but are welcome to enjoy the rest of the grounds.

We are a cashless event so we accept most major debit and credit cards.

We aim to accommodate most wheelchairs at Christmas at Bewl Water, and we kindly ask that you get in touch with us in advance so we can ensure the best possible arrangements are in place for your visit.
